On 4th August, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, China Electricity Council in Sanya, Hainan arranged the domestic wind power developers, manufacturers, research institutes, as well as industry experts to reviewed "the Code for Offshore Wind Construction Standards" edited by China Three Gorges Project Development Corporation, Longyuan Electric Power Holding Company and some other corporations.
The attendees includes China WindPower Group Ltd., Huaneng New Energy Ltd, China Power Investment Corporation, CNOOC, China Transportation Construction--Third Harbor Engineering Bureau (Shanghai), China Wind Energy Association, Huadian New Energy Company, Jiangsu Longyuan offshore Wind Power Preparatory Office, Hainan Longyuan Wind Power Ltd, Shanghai Wind Power Ltd., Long River New Energy Corporation, Zhongneng Power Development Ltd., China Electric Power Research Institute, North China Electric Power Design Institute, East China Electric Power Survey and Design Institute, Beijing Survey and Design Institute, Shanghai Electric Power Design Institute, National electro-mechanical Design Institute, Nanjing Hydraulic Research Institute, Hehai University, Shenzhen University, Shanghai Transportation University, Xinjiang GoldWind Technologies Ltd. Vestas offshore Wind Power Company, GE Energy, Dongfang Steam Turbine Company, Sinovel Wind Co.,Ltd. and some other organizations with a total of more than 40 people.
Director Wang Guo-ying from the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, and the Director Song-lin of China Electricity Council, respectively made presentation during the meeting and their presentation topics include:
? National government is trying to attach much more importance to energy saving and emission reduction work of low-carbon economy.
? National government emphasizes more and more on the quality of the construction (especially after the collapse of the building in Shanghai)
? Based on the CEC's statistics, the total installed capacity had reached 8940MW (in operation), power generating capacity had reached 12.8 billion KWH by the end of 2008.
? It is time to conduct Standardization work carried to offshore wind power
Representatives from different organization expressed their opinions and "the Code for Offshore Wind Power Construction Standards" was revised.
